Joshua Smith is an artist who makes model buildings. His exceptional trait is his attention to detail, focused enough to imbue his works with a recognizably human, lived-in feel. He has a good eye for inconsequential imperfections, the kind that really ground any kind of realistic work and make them feel ‘real’. His personal motivation behind making miniature buildings is somewhat hard to discern but his fascination with the constructed world is obvious. I think this is a result of a deeper perspective of the human world and if i can bring the eye of detail he puts to use so well to my own work i think it will only serve to improve it.
